Speed Racer- the film- slams into American Theaters May 9!
Starring Christina Ricci as Trixie and RAIN(Bi) in his first Hollywood Film!

First US Promo Poster for Speed Racer - the film Speed Racer the Movie is hitting theaters here stateside on May 9 and is brought to us by The Wachowski Brothers, the same brilliant minds who brought us " The Matrix", and Warner Brothers Pictures. Based on the old anime series of the same name and the manga that spawned the whole thing, " マッハGoGoGo " (Mach Go Go Go), there is alot of buzz overseas and here in the states about the film. Die hard fans of the old anime series are pretty jazzed about the idea of seeing it being brought to life on the big screen, a few friends are listed among that lot, but I was never one of those. I can remember my brothers being glued to the TV when it was on when we were kids, my interest was passing at best, but I will admit the addition of Rain as Japanese Racer Taejo Togokhan made this girl go, "hmmm... maybe I will go see this after all..." I won't give the story line away (yes the good vs evil format is there), but if you remember the old anime I doubt it is much different. If you are not familiar with the original, I would recommend seeing the Japanese version with subtitles if at all possible but if all else fails there is always the ones that were released here- maybe it will clue you in as to why this has such a buzz around it... if you appreciate classic anime anyway- Both the regular and I-Max versions will be out in just a couple of weeks here in the States (other release dates world wide listed below), check your local listings for showtimes...
I'll be catching the I-Max one needless to say! ~_^

Oh! And for all you G.O.D. lovers- Joon Park will be starring as a Yakuza driver in the film...
